Say Sorry!

What should you do when you hurt someone?

The kids passed around the letter K, and took turns blowing a kiss for the letter K.

The children are singing "I bumped into my friend".

Ooop's, I'm sorry!

The kids are dancing and gently bumping into each other to practice apologizing to one another.

The children are exploring kicking balls.

Getting ready to play a game called "Kicking on the K."

The children learned it is okay to kick balls when you are playing soccer, but it is not okay to kick your friends.

M is kicking a ball along the letter K made from tape. If he hit the koala, he said, "I'm sorry."

The kids are exploring with a piece of yarn. K made a letter B.

N made a circle.

Each child drew a face without a mouth. They cut a piece of yarn and glued it on to make a mouth for their face.

M did a great job cutting his yarn with scissors.

Each child took turns rolling a die and writing the number that matched on a sheet of paper.

I love that smile!

The kids worked together to build a structure with blocks.

After they were done, they took turns throwing a ball into a basket. If they knocked over the blocks, they apologized and worked together to re-build the structure.

The kids had fun playing in the snow.

S does not know what to do in the snow yet. She'll figure it out soon enough.

Sled rides!

The kids are working in their monthly journals.

Share!

Circle time!

I introduced the letter P today.

How do good friends treat each other?

The kids shared different ways they could play nicely with their friends.

Happy Baby!

Sharing Makes More! The children are exploring with yellow and blue paint. They are sharing paint with a friend and mixing it together. I explained that we can mix (share) two colors of paint to make three.

S is patiently waiting, so I can help her paint her paint a piece of art.

I set out yarn pieces, and invited the children to share them to make a large letter P.

The kids are playing musical bags. When the music stops, they open up their bag to see if they have the mama "P" and the baby letter "p". Whoever has the matching letters wins that round.

The kids discussed how they could share with friends. The instructions asked to search the outdoors for items to fill a box, but it has been pouring down rain for several days. I filled a box with supplies such as beads, feathers and other items for the kids to choose from. Each child picked out different items to fill their box.

Afterwards they decorated the boxes with heart stickers.

K is working on his journal.

N is the weather person for the month of September.

Mad!

C is starting to learn the days of the week. She has been the calendar person for an entire month. Each day she helps me put up the day of the week.

The kids are happily singing the days of the week song.

The kids are exploring the happy and mad looking glasses.

M is smiling to match his looking glass.

What makes you mad? The children are exploring ways to swat the floor. Afterwards, I spread out the sight word labels on the floor to pretend they were mosquitoes.

K is pretending his hand is a fly swatter.

K found a site word in the dinosaur book.

The children discussed how they felt today. They had a discussion about how they felt and why.

The kids followed along while I read them a story. I encouraged them to point to each word as I read each page.

How would you feel if you missed the bus?

The children helped me spread out paper cups with shapes and numbers written on the bottom. I carefully slid a counting bus under one cup and allowed each child to take a guess which cup was hiding the bus.

M found the bus.

The children learned that squeezing goo can help them to calm down when they are mad. Each child helped me put ingredients together to form goo.

N is adding corn starch to 1 part conditioner.

This part was a little messy, but the kids had fun.

S wants to see what all the fun is about.

Outdoor fun!
