Roots!

M is getting ready to dance.

Circle time!

K is the Calendar person for the month of October. We learned the Spanish word for October is Octubre.

The kids love to sing the days of the week song.

The babies are joining in on the fun.

M is the weather person for the month of October.

We decided to go on a nature walk, so we could explore the outdoors. The kids are looking for trees, so we can explore Mother Goose Timeroots.

We found a big root from a tree. We learned that the roots of a tree make the tree nice and strong, so they stay in place.

The children found sticks, so they can try and make them stand up tall like a tree.

The kids figured out that they needed roots to hold the branch up nice and tall.

K pulled out a weed, so he could see what a root looks like.

M says the weed looks disgusting.

Each child drew a tree and roots on a piece of paper.

K is measuring his tree to see how tall it is.

I helped M draw a tree by tracing his hand. After he was done, he colored it.

The kids are listening to a song about trees.

C is pretending to be a tree blowing in the wind.

You can't tell in this pic, but G is shrugging her shoulders to the music.

M is searching for a pear on the topic poster with his magnifying glass.

C found a squirrel on the poster.

I love to see the babies having fun too.
