Branch!

What do branches hold?

S is ready to explore outdoors!

K is the calendar person for the month of October. He is counting the days to find out the date today.

The children are passing around the Hands-On Letter Aa and tracing it with their finger.

M is the weather person for October.

M is attempting to build a letter Aa with his Popsicle sticks.

M did a great job.

C created a letter Aa without any assistance.

The children are excited to go outside first thing this morning.

They are gathering a variety of sticks to determine which ones are called "boughs" and which ones are called "twigs."

S is watching all the kids in action.

K and K assembled a letter Aa!

K is showing me the bough he found.

Now, the kids are looking for twigs or sticks on the ground, so they can explore breaking them.

Playtime!

The children are exploring with leaves.

They are busy making leaf prints!

K's leaf print is complete!

More fun with leaves!

M and C are making fingerprint leaves on their photo sheet.

S is joining in on the fun.

Fruit Pie Counting! We had a discussion about what fruits they might find growing on a tree. The kids all agreed that apples grow on a tree. I laid down a branch, and each child took turns placing fruit beads along the branch.

After they were done, each child received a foil pan. They counted 3 fruit beads and placed them into their foil pans.

S is enjoying a tasty snack.
