Animal Tracks!

Mother Goose Time!

The children are walking around a circle like each animal named in each verse.

M is walking like a bear.

S is hopping like a bunny.

Getting ready to explore! 

G is making footprints in the sand.

S would rather sit in the sand. 

K is exploring the sand. He likes to touch it.

C is playing the "Animal Tracks Game." 

The children are attempting to match footprints with the correct animal.

G's getting ready to spin.

It is time to make a reindeer headband. 

C's reindeer is almost done.

Time for a pic! The kids are proud of their work.

C is walking like a bear.

What would you do if you saw a Bear's footprints in the snow? The kids said they would hide.

M built a bridge all by himself.

The children wanted to paint a hand print on their woodwinds.

C is putting up the day of the week. Today is Tuesday. The Spanish word for Tuesday is Martes.

We introduced the color "white" today. M is searching the room for something white, so he can pretend to paint it with the white paint brush. 

The kids are having fun playing with the pattern cards. 

M is acting out the pattern. He stomped his foot when he saw the card with a foot on it, M waved his hand back and forth when he saw the card with a hand on it. 

G is clapping her hands to the beat.

The kids had fun tracing their names to make a name tag. 

Making music!

C is pounding the instrument like a drum. 

It is time to make our drum prop! I premade the drums and put them together prior to teaching the lesson. Then, I gave the kids markers to decorate their drums.
