Woodwinds!

M is counting the days of the month.

K discovered the theme poster.

The Spanish word for Wednesday is"Meircoles".

M is howling like the wind.

Singing "Woodwind Sound" to the tune of "The Muffin Man." The children are singing the words and adding in different actions. They are humming, and pretending to whistle.

C is making windy sounds.

S is joining in on the action.

C is exploring the theme poster. She s looking for things that make sounds.

Afterwards, the kids had fun acting out the images on the back of their magnifying glass.

M is playing the flute.

K found the owl on the theme poster.

The kids are exploring the cardboard tubes. They are blowing through the tubes to make different sounds.

The kids learned that musicians use their fingers to cover holes on woodwind instruments to make different sounds. Afterwards,, they took turns rolling a color cube and identified the color on top. Then, they placed their fingers on the color pipe according to the colors.
