Vehicle!

What do you think happens at a watering hole? I explained that animals drink water, take baths and cool off in water when they become hot. I filled several cups with safari counters, and encouraged the children to help me find the cup with 9 counters inside. Then., they helped me place a counter on each shape to check to see if we had a total of  nine safari counters.

Cheese!

C is getting really good at counting the days of the week.

S enjoys playing with the box of items for circle time. She is always keeping her hands busy.

M said it is snowy and cold today.

Getting ready to sing, "The Wheels on the Van" to the tune of "The Wheels on the Bus." When I name a child, they walk, run, or hop around the group until the end of the verse.

The kids are playing a Safari matching card game.

S liked the lion the best.

Afterwards, the kids picked their favorite safari animal, and drew a picture of the animal onto their journals.

S is painting her picture since she has not quite figured out how to write yet.

G is painting with S.

Playing "Roadblock." I placed several safari counters along a path. The kids are taking turns rolling a die. They must roll a 5 to remove the animal out of the way.

The children are exploring with the safari counters and a tub of water.

We started at the table, but the little ones had a hard time reaching the tub.

Once we moved the tub to the floor it made it easier for the toddlers to join in on the fun.
