Mother Goose Time

Circle time is dance time!

G wants to dance too!

Hello K!

All of the children wanted to start out their day by holding hands. We talked about what the word  "peace" means.

Peace means sharing, getting long with others.

Peace means being kind.

I read a short story about Martin Luther King, Jr. 

We learned that Martin Luther King's name for short was ML. We also learned that he did not like it when his people were mistreated because of the color of their skin. ML decided that he needed to do something about it. He tried to be the very best at everything he did. He did so well he graduated at the age of 15 years old, and went to college. ML used his gifts to bring all people of color together in a peaceful way. 

We learned some yoga poses that we can do when we become angry or upset. These poses can be used to help calm us down.

We read a book about ML! We learned about his "I have a dream" speech.

Now, we are mixing fruit loops and pretzels in a Ziploc bag. 

Each child guessed how many pretzels they had in their bag. Then, they counted their pretzels to see if their prediction was correct.

We had a discussion about how people come in all different colors just like cereal. We also discussed some ways we could make peace with others.
