Pumpkin Patch Party!

The "Northern Lights" were twinkling in the sky this morning.
Mother Goose Time
Circle Time!

The kids loved S' costume.

M thought it would be fun to pull S' tail.

The children are singing a "Pumpkin Patch" song.

I cut  the top of a pumpkin prior to the activity. Then, I allowed the children to take turns slicing the already cut section of the pumpkin with a plastic knife. They really thought they were cutting through the pumpkin all by themselves.

C is using her muscles to cut through the pumpkin.

Now it is time to explore and see what it looks like on the inside.

M is attempting to scoop the inside of the pumpkin with a spoon.

We all thought it was pretty yucky inside.

M is afraid to stick his hand inside of the pumpkin.

C is not too sure either.

The inside of the pumpkin is slimy.

S is exploring the stringy parts of the pumpkin.

G is painting her pumpkin.

The children are taking turns rolling the fabric die. M is looking for the matching purple fabric.

He found it!

M is pinning the patch on the scarecrow.

Playing a game called "Pound a Pumpkin."

I partially pounded golf tees into the pumpkin. Then, the kids took turns pounding the golf tees in.
